St. Maria Goretti Catholic School in Arlington, TX seeks a part-time Level I teacher beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year. Candidates should be passionate about teaching in a Catholic school and forming children into missionary disciples of Christ. The candidate must embrace Catholic schools’ evangelizing mission and be willing to work as a member of a team. The candidate is expected to prepare students thoroughly for acceptance into a college preparatory high school. Familiarity with classical education is preferred.
The Teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students in the Catholic school for whom the teacher is responsible within the framework of the school’s philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The ideal applicant should understand how a Catholic worldview permeates the curriculum and instruction, understand the role of the moral imagination in elementary education, and be an intentional disciple of Christ committed to providing a Gospel witness. The Teacher provides the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth toward a successful future.
Applicants must have completed the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Training, hold a bachelor’s degree and meet the minimum requirements for classroom teachers as set forth by the Diocese and TCCBED. Applicants must have a commitment to the ministry of Catholic education and the ability to offer rigorous, innovative instruction while possessing fluency in the use of digital tools.
